Natalie Jean Marquardt

December 15, 1952 — April 5, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Natalie Marquardt, 72, who passed away at home surrounded by family following a long battle with ovarian cancer, which she fought so hard for many years. Born December 15, 1952, in Torrington, Connecticut, growing up she won many beauty pageants, a state bowling championship and loved skiing and camping with her family.

Natalie was a business owner and homemaker. She put her heart and soul in her business and started it from the ground up, working tirelessly to bring joy to pet owners around the world with her amazing talent to craft custom-made pet cakes and treats for a variety of occasions. Her work was featured in magazines, conferences and news stories all showcasing her unique style and personal touch she added to each and every project. Her customers ranged from personal family members and friends to accomplished celebrities, yet she put the same heart and soul into every piece. Her groundbreaking work continues to bring an impact to the industry as it was eventually acquired. She was so proud of her work and wanted to share it with the world.

She married her lifelong partner on May 19, 1990, and together they brought a blended family together; Chris Marquardt (Kim), Johnnie Sevco (Laura), Natasha Winchester (Jeff), Dawn D’Acquisto (Fred) and eventually welcomed 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Natalie was the backbone of the family and kept the home going, always bringing everyone together. She always supported her family no matter what and was always there. Her courageous fight with cancer inspired everyone who knew her and will continue to live on in our hearts always and forever. We are fortunate and grateful for the time we had with her and she will be missed by many.
