Douglas "Doug" Dwight Swick

Douglas “Doug” Dwight Swick passed away on January 21, 2025 at the age of 68. He was born to George and Elizabeth Swick on September 28, 1956 in Minot, North Dakota. He graduated from George Mason High School in Falls Church, Virginia in 1974. He then went on to study printing at Rochester Institute of Technology, graduating in 1979, as well as completing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Georgetown University in 2011. He married Savi Swick on December 24, 1994, who remained a close friend after their separation. He had two children, Sean and Hayley Swick, who meant the world to him. To them, he was their hero and guardian angel. 

Doug was a humble and loving man as well as a devoted father. He was curious, exceptionally positive, effortlessly friendly, and everyone enjoyed his presence. He was always willing to try new things. He lived in many different places, like Costa Rica, Japan, the Philippines, Mexico and South Africa, experienced different cultures, and held many different jobs in his career, including being a printing sales executive, English teacher, nurse and a real estate agent. He was an avid football fan and rooted for the Washington Commanders.

We will always remember his love, his warmth, his ability to make us laugh with an old joke we heard a thousand times, and his support through good times and bad. He is forever in our hearts and minds. 

Doug is survived by both his parents, his brothers George and Scott Swick, and his children Hayley and Sean.
